The Establishment of the Department

In 1975, a presidential decree was issued to establish Helwan University as a technological university specializing in artistic, sports, and technological fields. Later, additional faculties were introduced, including the Faculty of Arts, under which the Department of French Language and Literature was established in 1996.

The university, represented by the French Language Department at the Faculty of Arts, is an accredited examination center for the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the fields of tourism and business, based on an agreement between the two parties, which is currently being renewed.

The department is collaborating with University of M’sila in Algeria through an agreement that is currently being finalized between the two institutions. The department is also collaborating with Barika Center in Algeria through an agreement that is currently being finalized between the two parties.

Achieving a high ranking for the French Language Department program at the Faculty of Arts among equivalent departments locally and regionally.

Preparing specialized and highly qualified academic cadres of faculty members, capable of creativity and innovation, and up-to-date with the latest scientific and educational developments to raise the ability of graduates to meet the requirements of the labor market.

Supporting and developing the educational process in order to improve the quality elements in the practical aspects.

Developing the research plan to serve the community by diversifying scientific research conducted by faculty members and assistant staff, as well as qualifying graduates to enroll in postgraduate studies.

Preparing graduates capable of serving the job market in various fields (such as tourism, commerce, media, translation, and other branches), as well as equipping them with the skills needed for employment in alignment with the demands of the job market locally and regionally.

Enhance the educational, research and environmental services provided by the program.
